The Swiss Family Treehouse is a beautiful walk-through attraction that can be found shortly after entering Adventureland through the hub of the Magic Kingdom. Based upon the 1960 Disney adventure film Swiss Family Robinson, this structure stands more than six stories high and displays how the family managed to survive on their own at the beginning of the 19th century. Visitors young and old will be impressed by the family’s ingenuity as they constructed their new home from what they could salvage from their ill-fated ship, the Swallow. Highlights of your tour include an impressive water-delivery system, a huge stone hearth and oven, the enormous wheel from the Swallow’s deck, and the Robinson boys’Crow’s Nest, which offers sweeping views of Adventureland, as well as a peak at Splash Mountain and the Jungle Cruise. The Swiss Family Treehouse is suitable for all ages, but does require all visitors to navigate more than 100 steps to reach the top and return to ground level.
