One of Walt Disney World’s most beloved attractions, the Jungle Cruise takes you on a tour of some of the most famous rivers in the world, including the Amazon, the Congo, and the Nile rivers. Originally intended to use real animals throughout, Walt Disney and his Imagineers soon realized they would not be able to control the animals’ behavior and instead substituted the use of audio-animatronics.

After passing through the nicely themed queue, including narration from Jungle Navigation Company’s DJ Albert Awol whose musical selections and announcements will have you scratching your head, you board steamers with such names as “The Nile Nellie”and “Amazon Annie” as you set sail on your 10-minute voyage. As you wave goodbye to the dock, your intrepid skipper provides a comedic narration as you pass through lush greenery and encounter hippos, Indian and Asian elephants, giant snakes and other dangerous animals. Cruise past a campsite ransacked by gorillas, an eerie Cambodian temple, a rhino getting his point across to an expedition member, and see the infamous back side of water!

As your tour concludes, make sure you wave “Hello!”to Trader Sam and consider his two-for-one offer for your head. Fast Passes are highly recommended for this attraction as afternoon waits can get quite long. This ride is appropriate for all ages and guests in wheelchairs may remain in them on the attraction.
