It’s a Pirate’s Life for Me at the Pirates of the Caribbean
As you make your way through Adventureland, you will come upon the imposing Castillo Del Morro, home to one of Walt Disney’s most popular attractions, The Pirates of the Caribbean. Famous for decades, this adventure is more popular than ever with the creation of the Pirates film franchise. After entering, make your way through the twists and turns of the queue, passing cannonballs, crates, and two pirate skeletons forever locked in an un-winnable chess match.
After boarding your boat, you’re off on a journey that begins with a warning from Blackbeard, and haunting songs of mermaids through colorful caverns and skeletons of pirates long passed. Ride through the middle of a battle as Captain Barbossa and his flagship bombard a Spanish fort and his henchmen dunking a town official in a well, all while seeking information about Captain Jack Sparrow. See the pirate auction as the town maidens are offered to the highest bidder while Captain Jack steals a look at a treasure map; pass through the burning remnants of a sacked town, and view the hilarious scene of locked-up pirates attempting to coax the cell keys from the jail’s guard dog before it’s too late. As you round the final turn, Captain Jack wishes you farewell while perched on a throne in the treasure room.
From the memorable theme song “Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate’s Life for Me,” to legendary characters both new and classic, no trip to the Magic Kingdom is complete without a stop at this iconic attraction.
