Strolling through Frontierland, you won’t miss the sight and sound of Splash Mountain. Screams of joy (and maybe a bit of fear) from riders making the final plummet can be heard near and far. When entering the queue, hoedown music welcomes you; just try not doing a jig. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported to the Old West as you make your way to the loading area: spotting wagon wheels, antiques and a few famous critters who call the attraction home.

Splash Mountain is an indoor/outdoor log flume ride that takes you on a trip through the story of Disney’s 1946 film, Song of the South. Once aboard, you will travel by log, learning the story of Br’er Rabbit, who is on a mission for adventure. His travels get a bit tricky when Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear try to capture him. The initially jovial mood of the ride changes when you learn your rabbit friend may be in danger. While traveling, you’ll experience hills, drops and winding waterways.

The ascent up the final hill will have you worrying for Br’er Rabbit’s safety as you spot two lurking vultures. As you near the top, the sun meets your face right before you get a warning and plummet into the Briar Patch! Did we mention there is water involved? How did Br’er Rabbit make out? A clue may be found in the performance of beloved Disney song Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah being sung by a chorus of critters aboard a riverboat as you make your way to the ride exit. How did you react to your drop? Be sure to stop by the photo capture area to find out! You can even purchase your souvenir photo for a fun memento to take home
